Information minister, Kojo Oppong-Nkrumah has commissioned a newly built radio station called Naya Radio by the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation in Yendi.
According to him, the establishment of the station forms part of measures by Government and the state broadcaster to ensure that information is made available to the Ghanaian public in as many local languages as possible.
“Additionally, Government is working to establish 6 new radio stations in the 6 new regions of Ghana” – he said.
As a guest speaker at the 4th Aliu Mahama memorial lecture, he outlined how young Ghanaians can draw lessons from the life of the late former Vice President especially on how he rose from Dagbon to the world.
He used the opportunity to pay a courtesy call on the overlord of the Dagbon Kingdom Ya-Na Abubakari Mahama ll at the Gbewa Palace.
