Former President of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama who is doing everything possible to retain power in the December polls election has promised the youth of Wa and its environs of creating opportunities should he win the 2020 general election.
As part of his four days tour in the Upper West Region, John Mahama made it clear to the people of Wa to vote massively for him in order to continue the good works he started in the community.
On Wednesday, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer, John Mahama visited the Wa Magazine and interacted with the owners of garages, shop owners and artisans on how to support and enhance their work.
He also used the opportunity to explain the National Apprentice Programme through which young people would be engaged and undergo skills training withmmaster craftsman.
He revealed that about 100,000 youths would will engage under the project.
John Mahama stated that no one would be asked to pay any amount of money before he or she gets undertake the training.
“Government will be responsible for the cost of training and also provide the trainees with start-up packs at the end of their training” – he promised.
“Through the $10bn Big Push investment in infrastructure over a five year period, we will aggressively begin the construction of many projects across the country, providing a minimum of one million sustainable and decent jobs over four years” – he assured.
The NDC is said to launch their Manifesto coming Monday September 7, 2020.
