The first lady of Ghana, Madam Rebecca Akufo Addo has cut sod to begin the construction of two Libraries in Amasaman and Bortiano in the Ga West and Ga South Municipalities in the Greater Accra Region.
According to her, the libraries would be completed November this year so that school children and others can use the edifice.
She indicated that the two forty – seater libraries is funded through her foundation called the Rebecca Foundation.
Madam Rebecca revealed that the libraries would be stocked with different kinds of reading materials.
She continued that computers would also be in the libraries to help the youth with their research and other academic activities.
“This edifice would help create and give the youth a conducive environment to learn very well” – she noted.
According to her, the edifice would equally help inculcate the habit of reading into the youth.
Madam Rebecca cut the sod on September 4, 2020.
