Rebecca Akufo Addo is a public figure and doubles as the first lady of Ghana and the founder of the Rebecca Foundation.
Her foundation is touching lots of lives in the outreach of different towns and communities.
The first lady on August 20,2020 paid a courtesy call on all five clans under the Teshie traditional council which comprises the Klemusu Clan, Krobo Clan, Agbawe Clan, Lenshie Clan and Gbugbla Clan as well as the Chiefs and elders of the Osu Traditional councils.
Rebecca Akufo Addo was accompanied by the Minister for Foreign Affairs and Member of Parliament (MP) for Anyaa Sowutuom Hon. Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey, MP for Ledzokuku and Deputy Minister for Health, Hon. Dr. Bernard Oko Boye, Administrator of the District Assembly Common Fund (DACF) and former MP for Tema West, Hon. Irene Naa Torshie, Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of Ablekuma Central Municipal Assembly, Hon. Mariama Karley Amui, MCE for Korle Klottey, Nii Adjei Tawiah and MCE for Krowor Municipal Assembly, Joshua Nii Bortey.
Amidst the celebration of the Homowo, Rebecca Akufo Addo donated some food items to help the Ga community celebrate the Homowo festival successfully.
She used the opportunity to commend the people of Teshie for keeping the peace to present a united front for this important Festival.
She further used the occasion to remind the people of the many social intervention policies being implemented by the government led by her husband, H.E. President Akufo-Addo including the Free Senior High School (SHS) policy, to break the vicious cycle of semi-literacy and poverty within the various communities.
